Four days of Advent markets, coffee houses and one very good concert — a short hop from Budapest with the hotel ten minutes from the Rathausplatz.
Vienna in December is the easy win: two and a half hours from Budapest, and the whole city turns into an Advent market for a month.
We put you in a hotel inside the Ring, so the markets, the museums and the coffee houses are all on foot. The itinerary is deliberately light — two guided mornings and the rest of the time yours, because the point of this trip is wandering between Punschstände with nowhere in particular to be.
The guided part covers the Innere Stadt on the first morning and Schönbrunn on the third, both with a Hungarian-speaking guide. The concert on the second evening is in the Musikverein or the Konzerthaus depending on the programme — we confirm which about six weeks out.
Coach travel from Budapest is included in both directions, leaving early and getting back late so you keep all four days.
