Tuscany Slow Roads
A week between Florence and the Val d'Orcia at the pace the region deserves — two bases, no daily repacking, and three long lunches you'll remember.
Most Tuscany itineraries move hotel every night and you spend the week in the car. This one doesn't: three nights in Florence, four in a farmhouse outside Pienza, and day trips out from each.
Florence first, with skip-the-line entry to the Uffizi and the Accademia booked for you, and a food walk through Sant'Ambrogio market on the second morning. Then south into the Val d'Orcia, where the base is an agriturismo with its own vineyard and a kitchen that will feed you far too well.
From there it's short drives: Siena for the Campo and the cathedral, Montalcino for the Brunello, Pienza for pecorino, and one afternoon that is officially unscheduled because you will want it.
A hire car is included for the second half — the Val d'Orcia doesn't work without one. We hand it over in Florence on day four and you drop it at the same place at the end.
